Maurice was super athletic. He could run, bike, and hike circles around most of his friends and family. And we knew this for a fact because he tracked his workouts on an app and occasionally posted them on shared family chat feeds. The day after his death, we brought up Maurice's run tracking app feed and saw that his last run was 8.56 miles less than twenty-four hours before he died. The knowledge that he’ll never run another mile is soul-crushing, but rather than sink into our grief, let’s commemorate the day of his death in a way that would make Maurice proud. ​
“They say you die twice. One time when you stop breathing and a second time, a bit later on, when somebody says your name for the last time.” Please join us on April 15 and run, walk or bike 8:56 miles in memory of our amazing brother who packed more adventure in 56 years than most people will live in a lifetime. ​
